Why work with us

Why Work With Us?

emBracing Paws offers bracing as a service. We understand that each pet has its own needs and goals differ from pet to pet. We work with the DVM and pet parent to select the best brace option for the pet. If the right brace cannot be found from one of our suppliers then we have the ability to custom fabricate a brace tailored to the needs of the pet! Unlike other bracing providers we do measurements in clinic. From there we are able to customize the brace to the precise measurements of the pet and provide alterations if needed. Our prices beat our competitors! For what you get with other providers we provide a more hands on approach and better pricing for the same brace.

Let's work together

Your diagnosis leads

We rely on the DVM's diagnosis, treatment plan, and goals when determining the best course of action. This collaborative effort allows us to give your patients the care they deserve.

Our CPOs use your clinical information to fabricate the best solution for the pets condition.

Five steps

How Our Process Works

  1. 1

The veterinarian sends us a bracing inquiry with corresponding documentation of diagnosis. All bracing decisions are made based on DVM's diagnosis and recommendation.

  2. 2

Our CPO reviews submitted information and requests clarification if needed.

  3. 3

An appointment is scheduled in Veterinary clinic with the patient. During the appointment bracing options will be discussed and measurements taken.

  4. 4

After the initial visit the patient will be invoiced for the brace. This can be done by the DVM or by us. Once a deposit or payment received fabrication of the brace begins.

  5. 5

Appointment scheduled for fitting. There, any last minute adjustments can be made and instructions and care explained to the Pet Parent.

Case types and devices

Orthotic and prosthetic solutions by region

Bracing is a non-surgical treatment option. Every device is made on your diagnosis and direction, and fitted by Mark Rodriguez, C.P.O. We work as a partner to your practice, never as a replacement for veterinary care.

01

Stifle (knee) orthosis

Stifle devices are effective for cruciate ligament injuries, torn ACL or other ACL injury, CCL tear and CCL injury, other ligament injuries, fracture management, and hind leg support. They are used as an alternative to surgery, and for other rear leg injuries of the knee joint in dogs.

02

Carpal (wrist) orthosis

For injuries affecting the wrist joints, bones or ligaments. The carpus is composed of 3 joints, 7 carpal bones, 2 antebrachial bones (radius and ulna), and 4 or 5 metacarpal bones, with multiple ligaments holding the structure together. Injuries can occur at any of the 3 joints (antebrachiocarpal, middle carpal, or carpometacarpal), and any of these bones can be displaced (luxated) or fractured.

03

Tarsal (ankle) orthosis

For Achilles injuries, tarsal and metatarsal injuries, and rehabilitation.

04

Elbow orthosis

The most common reasons for considering an elbow orthosis include dynamic luxation (dislocation) and osteoarthritis.

05

Prosthetic or advanced device

A mobility solution for patients with limb loss. 4-legged animals do better and suffer less long-term compensatory joint problems than their 3-legged friends.

06

Custom orthotic and prosthetic solutions

Depending on the pathology and case presentation, our devices can be used pre-op/post-op or even as a surgical alternative. From neurological issues to catastrophic injuries to osteosarcomas, we design our products specifically to address your goals and patient profile. If the right brace cannot be found from one of our suppliers, we can custom fabricate a brace tailored to the needs of the patient.

Case examples

Two patients, two presentations

Case notes as recorded by the practice. Each patient was braced on the strength of the veterinary diagnosis.

Cooper

Presentation
Right radial carpal luxation
Region
Carpus, bilateral, right greater than left
Device
Carpus brace

History: Fell off a jungle gym and suffered the bilateral carpal joint injury, with the right greater than the left.

Management: The arthrodesis was not an option so bracing was utilized to return to normal activity and functional use of the right forelimb.

Device: Cooper was measured and fabrication began on his Carpus brace. It immobilized the joints of the forelimb to allow healing.
